Numbers: can you show them? Giving my own example still working and we are in middle of 32% bracket. Suppose after retirement we have another $100k extra income due to RMD which pushes us in to 35% bracket. Let us say we are $50k into that bracket. Which means I will be paying extra (35-32%)*50k=$1500. Is this amount significant when AGI will be half a million?
It's unusual, even among Bogleheads, to have roughly $500k/yr in taxable ordinary income during retirement - presumably mostly from pensions and SS?

But you have to realize you're asking about $1500/yr on Bogleheads, where everyone spends countless time searching for $10 in savings on tax software every year.
