1. COBRA: Ugh. While the employer notified the COBRA administrator very promptly and I paid the first premium within 5 days of termination, the slow process of clearing even an ACH payment and activation of the policy is annoying, still not active, apparently takes 2 weeks since payment! Warning to others: don't expect to have a seamless COBRA transition even when everything starts off quickly and unless urgent, don't schedule health visits within the first month to avoid paying and seeking reimbursement hassles.
Tip: Pay your premiums at least 2 weeks before the start of the next month. Why? Because your coverage is stopped until the insurance company gets paid. If the premium is due on the 1st of the month and the company doesn't get payment until 1 week later, your coverage for that first week is at risk. That's what was told to me when I went on COBRA in 2020.

I understand you can argue about it later (yes, I'm covered...), but it's best to not have to deal with this in the first place.

For your ACA and dental-vision, I highly recommend contacting a medical insurance broker in your area. This is different than homeowners / auto. I had an agent I was dealing with for many years. When I left my employer, he gave me excellent advice in no time flat.
