I just checked my Schwab portal. There's a banner on the front page: "Due to a third-party, global, industry-wide issue, certain online functionality may be intermittently slow or unavailable. We’re actively monitoring the issue. Phone services may be disrupted and hold times may be longer than usual."It is related. I've been trying to place a sell order on the Schwab app this morning but keep getting an error message. People are reporting issues on down detector. Frustrating.I can only assume this is related: I am unable to transfer money from my bank account into Schwab via the Schwab website
And I have 3 family members flying to 3 different locations this weekend so everything is in chaos right now.
In the meantime, my market order to sell (an actively traded stock) is still showing up on the open status page. I decided to cancel the order because I don't know if/how this outage will cause a glitch in the price. Now the trade is still showing up in the open status but it does have a note that it's been canceled and the time stamp. I don't know how they're going to reconcile these orders when all is said and done, but at least there's evidence that they're working on something behind the scenes.
