You can get a $10k peso note with this lady on the front, to help with your local spending if anyone visits: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mar%C3%AD ... _del_ValleArgentina recently reduced their policy rate to 40%. It was a tough day for those who had grown used to 50%. I was going to say something serious, but why ruin a good post?LOL, Fair enough. If cash started returning even double digits, the world would be radically different than it is currently. You sure about that? Now I have embraced laziness and don't bother, my cash holdings are a rounding error on my portfolio, so even if they returned 100% for years, it wouldn't move the needle much.![]()
Cash holdings of 10k returning 100% per year would swell to 10 million in 10 years, 10 billion in 20 years and 10 trillion in 30 years.
Sadly Evita, who is famous in the US via the song Don't Cry For Me Argentina is not currently available on their Peso's, but they keep releasing new, larger denomination bills, so perhaps she will return soon. She seems to be a recurring theme on their currency over the decades.
Me, I'd love to visit Argentina someday, but I think I'll wait until their real return on cash is not negative triple digits. The difference in pricing between breakfast and lunch has got to be surreal with that kind of inflation.
