Personal Consumer Issues • Anyone have 5G home internet? Experiences?

AT&T has a similar 5G product called AT&T Internet Air. I have had several mailings from them on this product. The cost and features do not appear quite as attractive as Verizon or T-Mobile.
A few days ago, we upgraded from our poky AT&T DSL Lite (0.75 Mbps!) to Internet Air.

We had also received several mailings about it. In our small town in the southeast, the only alternatives are apparently T-Mobile's 5G service, Spectrum cable, and maybe satellite providers. We stopped by a nearby Verizon office, and they told us they don't offer 5G internet in our area yet..

So far, we're happy with AT&T Internet Air. We get a decent signal (2-3 bars) from the nearest tower which is about 3 miles away as the crow flies. We might be able to improve on it by moving the gateway to a different location in the house, but that would be at one end of the house rather than near the middle, which might affect Wi-Fi coverage.

So far, download speeds are about 64-80 Mbps, using the gateway's Wi-Fi. Some of our devices use a powerline Ethernet network which apparently tops out at about 40-48 Mbps. I'll have to convert those to Wi-Fi and see how that works out.

We're a retired couple, and haven't done any streaming TV or Zoom yet because of our old DSL's limitations. We still need to explore the possibilities of of our new setup.
